Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of learning media to support students in field practice on the topic of living creature diversity, particularly herpetofauna diversity. The learning media provided by schools are limited to textbooks, PowerPoint presentations, and instructional videos. This study aims to develop, analyze the feasibility, and analyze the practicality of the product developed as a biology learning medium. This study used the R&D (Research and Development) method. The development model used was ADDIE, but was limited to the development stage. Product quality assessment data was obtained from a questionnaire as a data collection instrument The questionnaire results were analyzed using the Aiken's V formula, Pearson product moment, and Cronbach's alpha. The feasibility assessment was conducted by two material experts and two media experts, while the practicality assessment was conducted by two biology teachers and 15 grade 10 students of SMA Negeri 1 Petungkriyono. The validation results of the field guide book product of herpetofauna diversity (Amphibians & reptiles) in Mendolo Village, Pekalongan which was developed were declared “very feasible” to be used as a biology learning medium in Senior High Schools/Vocational High Schools. The product was said to be very feasible because it obtained a material expert feasibility test score by obtaining an average validity test presentation of 91% and an average reliability test presentation of 82% so that both were included in the “very feasible” category. In addition, the feasibility test was carried out by media experts obtaining an average validity test presentation of 80% and an average reliability test presentation of 86% so that both were included in the “very feasible” category. After being declared feasible, the product was tested on a limited basis by teachers and students with the result “Very Practical”. The product was said to be very practical because it obtained a teacher practicality test score by obtaining an average validity test presentation of 78% and an average reliability test presentation of 78% so that both were included in the “practical” category. Furthermore, the practicality test conducted by students yielded a "valid" result, with a calculated r value of 0.670 > r table, and an average reliability test of 94.4%, categorized as "very practical."
