Abstract

This study aims to: (1) identify the improvement of Iqra’ reading skills among Group B students at TK PKK 22 Jotawang, and (2) determine the impact of using hijaiyah audio-visual media in enhancing these reading skills. The indicators examined in this research include memorizing hijaiyah letters and identifying them in random order. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, with 16 students as subjects—6 boys and 10 girls. The object of the research was the Iqra’ reading ability using hijaiyah audio-visual media. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The success indicator was set at a minimum of 80% of the total students reaching the “well-developed” category. The results showed an improvement in hijaiyah letter reading skills in each cycle. Before the implementation, only 25% of the students were in the good category. After the first cycle, this increased to 56.25%. In the second cycle, it reached 87.5%, with no students remaining in the "not good" category. Therefore, the use of hijaiyah audio-visual media was proven effective in enhancing the Iqra’ reading skills of Group B students at TK PKK 22 Jotawang.
