Abstract

Facilities and infrastructure are essential supporting factors that significantly contribute to the success of the learning process. MTs Hidayatul Islam Kapas Bojonegoro, as an Islamic Basic Education Institution, still faces several challenges such as limited science laboratories, restricted land area, and suboptimal maintenance of existing facilities. Therefore, an effective strategy for optimizing the management of facilities and infrastructure is needed to enhance learning quality. This study aims to (1) describe the management of facilities and infrastructure at MTs Hidayatul Islam Kapas Bojonegoro, (2) analyze the strategies implemented to optimize facilities and infrastructure management in order to improve learning quality, and (3) identify the obstacles encountered in the optimization process. This research employs a qualitative case study approach. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling with the 3M criteria, consisting of the principal, vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, teachers, administrative staff, and students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, which were analyzed inductively through stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation, involving comparison across various methods and sources. The results of this study indicate that the condition of facilities and infrastructure at MTs Hidayatul Islam Kapas Bojonegoro is quite adequate, but still needs improvement, then the management of facilities and infrastructure at MTs Hidayatul Islam Kapas Bojonegoro has been running quite appropriately but not yet optimal. Management of facilities and infrastructure is carried out through the stages of planning, procurement, distribution, inventory, utilization, maintenance, and disposal. This strategy has a positive impact on improving the quality of learning, creating a comfortable learning environment, and growing a sense of responsibility among school residents towards the facilities they have. The obstacles still faced include budget limitations, lack of technical personnel in maintenance, and less than optimal ICT training for teachers. This study confirms that optimization of facilities and infrastructure management needs to be carried out collaboratively, continuously, and based on the participation of all school residents to support effective and quality learning.
