Abstract
This research is motivated by the numerous issues surrounding the existence of the Sufi Order (Tarikat) in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Islamic boarding schools not only teach religious knowledge but also inner/spiritual knowledge through wirid (recitation) and dhikr (remembrance). The relationship between Islamic boarding schools and Sufi orders in Indonesia appears to be a mutually symbiotic one, although the reality on the ground sometimes shows the opposite, such as rejection and a lack of interest in joining the Sufi Order. Therefore, creating this mutually symbiotic relationship requires a long process and the role of Islamic boarding schools in disseminating the teachings of the Sufi Order through individual approaches and through holding Sufi Order study sessions in the surrounding community. The researcher aims to examine the triangular relationship between the Sufi Order, the Daarul Ilmi Islamic Boarding School, and the surrounding community, as well as its implementation in religious development, harmony, and social welfare. The background to this research stems from the close relationship between the Sufi Order's spiritual development, the Islamic boarding school's religious education, and the active role of the community as both recipients and partners in implementing Islamic teachings. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies of religious and social activities within the Daarul Ilmi Islamic Boarding School in Tangerang Regency. The research informants included caretakers, religious teachers, followers of the Tijaniyah order, and the surrounding community. The results indicate that the triangular relationship between the Tijaniyah order, the Islamic boarding school, and the surrounding community operates synergistically. With the introduction of the Tijaniyah order, the community began to develop an interest in worship, dhikr, and sholawat (prayer) through attending religious studies and participating in activities held by the Daarul Ilmi Islamic Boarding School. The community also began to draw closer to God and frequently recited the Quran after congregational prayers. This undoubtedly strengthened the relationship between the Islamic boarding school, the Tijaniyah order, and the surrounding community. The Tijaniyah Congregation plays a role in in-depth spiritual development. Islamic boarding schools serve as centers for education and cadre development, while the community provides social support and actively participates in the implementation of Islamic teachings. The impact is evident in improving the community's spiritual quality, strengthening faith, developing noble morals, maintaining social harmony, and improving welfare through socio-economic activities.
