Abstract

Reconstruction of the Understanding of Hadith on Auspicious Times for Prayer is a scholarly effort to reinterpret and reorganize the meaning and context of the Prophet’s hadiths related to the best moments for supplicating to Allah SWT. This theme is significant as it touches upon the deepest spiritual dimension of Islamic worship, particularly in relation to temporal awareness and closeness to the Creator. This study arises from the phenomenon that people’s understanding of auspicious times for prayer is often literal limited to specific hours or moments without delving into the broader philosophical and spiritual meanings behind them. The research seeks to systematically reveal the structural meanings of the hadiths so that auspicious times for prayer can be understood as inner moments that unite sincerity of heart, discipline in worship, and spiritual honesty before God. The research employs a descriptive method. The researcher describes and explains hadiths related to auspicious times for prayer as found in various classical and contemporary sources, then presents their interpretations systematically. Through this descriptive method, the study focuses on presenting the hadith data, their religious contexts, and the meanings contained within them in a narrative and factual manner. The analytical process involves tracing the interconnections among hadiths discussing auspicious times for prayer in various worship contexts—such as during prayer, prostration, between the call to prayer (adhan) and the commencement (iqamah), and in the last third of the night. The findings reveal that auspicious times for prayer are not limited to specific moments but reflect a comprehensive and intricate spiritual system. Based on the hadith analysis, it was found that each moment within worship holds unique spiritual value that strengthens the servant’s relationship with Allah SWT. The mapping of auspicious times based on prayer underscores the importance of discipline, mindfulness, and purity of the soul as elements that draw one’s supplication closer to acceptance (ijabah). This conceptual reconstruction situates auspicious times within three interrelated dimensions ritual, existential, and social-spiritual which together shape the religious consciousness of Muslims. The understanding of hadiths on auspicious times for prayer thus transcends specific temporal or spatial boundaries, becoming instead a reflection of the holistic spiritual integrity of humans in their worship and relationship with God.
