Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of government expenditure, trade openness, external debt, and foreign direct investment on the economic growth of countries that are members of the Developing-8 (D-8) group during the period 2010–2023. The population in this study consists of all D-8 member countries, with the sampling technique using purposive sampling based on data availability during the research period. This research employs a quantitative approach with panel data analysis methods. The selection of the panel regression model was carried out through the Chow test, Hausman test, and Lagrange Multiplier test, while data analysis was conducted using EViews software. The results indicate that government expenditure, trade openness, and external debt have a negative and significant effect on economic growth. While foreign direct investment has a positive and significant effect on economic growth.
