Abstract

This study aims to explain and analyze the influence of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, habit, and perceived risk on the behavioral intention of Generation Z to perform cash waqf through e-payment, with experience as a moderating variable. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling, involving 228 Generation Z who met two criteria: (1) being part of Generation Z, and (2) having performed digital cash waqf at least once or possessing knowledge about digital cash waqf. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the SmartPLS 4 software. The results revealed that performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, habit, and perceived risk have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention to perform cash waqf through e-payment. In contrast, effort expectancy has no significant effect on behavioral intention. Furthermore, experience significantly moderates the relationships between effort expectancy and behavioral intention, as well as between facilitating conditions and behavioral intention. However, experience does not moderate the relationships between performance expectancy, social influence, habit, and perceived risk with behavioral intention. These findings provide practical implications for waqf management institutions to strengthen perceived usefulness, social support, and accessibility, as well as to ensure transparent risk management to enhance Generation Z’s participation in digital waqf.
