Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a global development framework designed to address a wide range of social, economic, educational, and environmental challenges in a comprehensive manner. Within this framework, LAZISMU DIY, as an Islamic philanthropic institution, holds a strategic role through the management of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZISKA) aimed at supporting the achievement of various SDG targets. This study aims to examine the contribution of LAZISMU Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) to the realization of the SDGs and to analyze the organizational effectiveness in implementing programs related to the distribution and utilization of ZISKA funds. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and source triangulation. The findings indicate that LAZISMU DIY contributes significantly to several SDG indicators through its empowerment and humanitarian programs. The Economic Pillar supports SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth); the Education Pillar aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education); the Health Pillar contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being); while the Environmental Pillar supports SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Furthermore, collaborative initiatives with various partner institutions strengthen SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The study also reveals that LAZISMU DIY demonstrates a relatively high level of organizational effectiveness, as reflected in program productivity, the ability to adapt to change, resource optimization and mobilization, as well as efficiency in program management. In conclusion, LAZISMU DIY is effective in administering ZISKA-based empowerment programs and has made a tangible contribution to the achievement of SDGs at the regional level.
