Abstract

Musik played in the library can create a different atmosphere. The atmosphere can create comfort or discomfort for the users. The purpose of this study was to determine how the influence of musik on the comfort of library users in the library of SMAN 5 Yogyakarta. This research method uses quantitative research. In this study, the type of research used by researchers is associative research which is research that has the aim of knowing the relationship or influence between two or more variables. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and observations. Analysis for data consists of simple linear regression analysis, correlation analysis, and the coefficient of determination. Based on the results of simple linear regression calculations, namely Y = 1.341 + 0.447X which can be interpreted that the effect of the musik variable on the comfort variable is positive, which shows a unidirectional influence between the two variables. Based on the correlation analysis, musik is positively correlated with comfort in the library with a very strong correlation, which is in the interval 0.80 - 1.000, with a value of 0.880. For the results of the calculation of R square or the coefficient of determination of 0.775 means that the effect of musik on comfort is 77.5%. The library can use the results of this study as a reference source to improve the comfort of the library users in the library.
