Abstract

Early marriage has become one of the social issues in Pakis District, Magelang Regency. The main factors contributing to this issue include low levels of education, economic limitations, and the cultural norms that support early marriage within the community. This study aims to analyze the psychosocial development of adolescents regarding the risks of early marriage through the School-Age Youth Guidance Program (BRUS). This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects include adolescents, parents, the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) as program facilitators, and the community health center (puskesmas) as supporting informants. The findings show that the BRUS program helps adolescents understand the risks of early marriage, reproductive health, and the importance of education. However, challenges persist in the implementation of the program, as environmental and cultural factors that normalize early marriage continue to hinder efforts to reduce early marriage rates in Pakis District. It can be concluded that the BRUS program is fairly effective in supporting the psychosocial development of adolescents in preventing early marriage. Nevertheless, the program needs to be implemented consistently and sustainably, accompanied by regular evaluations to achieve optimal outcomes.
