Abstract

The use of organic waste as a raw material for liquid fertilizer is a strategic solution to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers that trigger agricultural land degradation. This study aims to determine the effect and best dosage of the combination of water hyacinth POC and bean sprout waste on the growth of soybean cultivar Anjasmoro during the study. The study was conducted at the Greenhouse of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta from May to August 2025, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (control, 0 ml), P1 (20 ml/polybag), P2 (40 ml/polybag), P3 (60 ml/polybag), and P4 (80 ml/polybag). Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) if significant. The results showed that the combination of water hyacinth POC and bean sprout waste had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, number of pods, number of seeds, wet and dry weight of plants, and root length. The treatment did not significantly affect pod length, pod color, and flowering age. The best dose for all growth and yield parameters was 80 ml/polybag (P4) which consistently produced the highest values. The combination of water hyacinth POC and bean sprout waste was effective in increasing the growth and yield of Anjasmoro soybean plants, with an optimal dose of 80 ml/polybag. Utilization of this waste has the potential as an alternative organic fertilizer that is environmentally friendly and sustainable.
