Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of interpersonal communication as a copingmechanism among students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta who experienced ghosting. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation with purposefully selected informants. The results indicate that interpersonal communication helps students alleviate the emotional distress caused by ghosting through openness, social support, and validation from those closest to them. This support encourages students to rebuild self-confidence, manage emotions more adaptively, and improve boundaries in relationships. Thus, interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in the recovery process for ghosting victims.
