Abstract
This study aims to determine how the activities of reading Asmaul Husna and performing the Dhuha prayer are implemented in shaping the religious character of second grade students at MI NU Prambanan. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The subjects of this study include the principal, second grade teacher, and second grade students of MI NU Prambanan. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. This research uses field research, a qualitative research type with a qualitative descriptive approach through interviews in the field. Data was collected through interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the habituation of reading Asmaul Husna and performing the Dhuha prayer has been carried out routinely every morning before the teaching and learning process begins. These activities have been proven to foster religious values such as discipline, responsibility, obedience in worship, as well as gratitude and trust in God among the students. Supporting factors in the implementation of these activities include strong support from the school, teachers, and parents, as well as a conducive school environment. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of limited time, lack of awareness among some students, and differences in students’ levels of religious understanding. This study emphasizes the importance of religious habituation activities in elementary schools as an effective means of shaping students’ religious character from an early age.
