Abstract
This study aims to analyze the principal's policy in improving teacher performance quality at SDIT Salsabila Al Muthi'in Banguntapan Bantul. The background of this study indicates that efforts to improve teacher performance are not optimal, particularly in aspects of discipline, understanding the independent curriculum, and learning evaluation. This study used a qualitative approach using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The research subjects included the principal, the vice principal for student affairs and curriculum, and teachers. The results indicate that: first, policy formulation is carried out through identification of actual problems and is determined collaboratively with school leaders, senior teachers, program coordinators, and the foundation. Second, policy implementation is carried out through setting annual targets, developing functional plans, and integrating policies into school work programs, which include teacher discipline, mandatory competency development, and academic supervision. Third, policy implications have a significant impact on improving performance, particularly in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. Teachers become more disciplined, have a better understanding of assessment techniques for learning processes and outcomes, are more reflective in improving learning, and experience improvements in professional, pedagogical, personal, and social competencies. Furthermore, the principal's policies strengthen coordination, a collaborative work culture, and the school's academic climate. Thus, the principal's policies, systematically and collaboratively designed and implemented, positively contribute to improving teacher performance and the quality of education at SDIT Salsabila Al Muthi'in Banguntapan Bantul.
