Abstract

Tourism is one of the sectors that has the potential to increase Regional Original Revenue. The development of the tourism sector can stimulate economic activities through an increase in tourist arrivals and the growth of supporting tourism facilities. This study aims to analyze the effect of the tourism sector on Regional Original Revenue in all provinces on the island of Java during the period 2014–2024, using the variables of the number of tourists, number of hotels, number of restaurants, and number of tourist attractions. This study uses secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf). The analytical method employed is the common effect model with all provinces on the island of Java as the research object. The results indicate that the number of tourists, number of hotels, and number of restaurants have a positive and significant effect on Regional Original Revenue. Meanwhile, the number of tourist attractions does not have a significant effect on Regional Original Revenue on the island of Java.
