Abstract
The palm oil replanting program is a crucial effort to support the development of sustainable plantations while reducing the negative environmental impacts caused by land burning. However, low awareness and participation of farmers have become the main obstacles in implementation. Therefore, effective development communication is needed to enhance the community’s understanding, attitudes, and actions regarding the importance of replanting. This study aims to analyze the sustainable development communication planning model implemented by PT. Agrowiyana in raising community awareness to carry out palm oil replanting in Talang Makmur Village, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi. The research refers to development communication theory, communication management, and the KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, Practice) model. The approach used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection methods including in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review. The informants include company representatives, managers of KUD Sawit Mandiri, and farmers involved in the program. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that PT. Agrowiyana successfully implemented a KAP-based communication model by identifying the target audience, formulating messages, and selecting media that aligns with the community’s characteristics. Persuasive and sustainable strategies were able to increase knowledge, build positive attitudes, and encourage replanting among farmers.
