Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of religious moderation understanding and Islamic digital literacy on the anti-radicalism attitude of students in the Islamic Education Management Study Program (MPI) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Using proportionate stratified random sampling, a sample of 209 students was randomly selected based on class strata (2022–2025) with a margin of error of 5%. The independent variable is religious moderation understanding (X), the dependent variable is anti-radicalism attitude (Y), and the mediating variable is Islamic digital literacy (Z). Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 25 with descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results of the study show that religious moderation understanding has a significant positive effect on the anti-radicalism attitude, Islamic digital literacy also has a significant positive effect, religious moderation has a greater effect (β= 0.676) compared to Islamic digital literacy (β= 0.541), Islamic digital literacy strengthens the effectiveness of religious moderation as a catalyst, and simultaneously, both variables significantly contribute to shaping the antiradicalism attitude of students. This study is expected to contribute to the development of education on religious moderation and digital literacy in strengthening students' resilience against radicalization, and serve as a foundation for educational institutions to design more effective radicalization prevention programs.
