Abstract

This study aims to determine the perception of users towards the quality of services of the Magetan Regency Public Library which is reviewed based on the dimensions of Service Affect – SA, Library as Place – LP, Personal Control – PC, and Information Access – IA using the LibQUAL+™ method. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with a population of 12,223 library members. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with a total of 99 samples obtained by calculation using the Taro Yamane formula. The data collection process was carried out by distributing questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. This study uses a Likert scale with five answer choices. Data analysis uses Mean and Grand Mean analysis which is carried out on the four indicators. The results of the study showed that the perception of users towards the quality of services of the Magetan Regency Public Library obtained a value of 4.19 which is included in the good category. Meanwhile, each indicator, namely Service Affect – SA, obtained a value of 4.15, which is included in the good category, Library as Place – LP obtained a value of 4.32, which is included in the very good category, Personal Control – PC obtained a value of 4.14, which is included in the good category, and Information Access obtained a value of 4.16, which is included in the good category. Based on these results, the researcher provides suggestions: increasing social interaction and emotional bonds to better understand the characteristics of librarians, increasing collection development, improving class numbers and arranging collections, and adding digital collections.
