Abstract

This research aims to examine the development of the spirituality of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah congregation in Banjarnegara during the period of K. H. Hasyim Hasan Fatah. In Tarekat Naqsabandiyah in Banjarnegara, there are some pilgrims who have bad backgrounds. This research discusses how the development of spirituality of Tarekat Naqsbandiyah congregation in Banjarnegara in the span of 1991-2013 AD. The subject matter of this research is how the history of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah in Banjarnegara, how the development of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah in Banjarnegara, and why the spirituality of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah congregation in Banjarnegara can develop. This research is a historical research that uses anthropological approach. The theory used is the theory of spirituality development. The method used in this research is the historical method, namely data collection (heuristics) which consists of oral sources and written sources, and consists of primary and secondary sources. Criticism of sources (verification) which is done by looking at the outside and inside of the source. Interpretation which is carried out using the method of analysis and synthesis. The writing stage (historiography) is done systematically, chronologically, and objectively. The results of this research consist of three points: First, when K. H. Hasyim Hasan Fatah became the murshid of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah in Banjarnegara, there were worshipers who had bad backgrounds. The congregation were people who often left the prayer, people who like to steal, a shaman, a ronggeng dancer, and people who like to get drunk and gamble. Second, K. H. Hasyim Hasan Fatah made efforts such as teaching istiqamah, holding recitations for the congregation of tarekat, teaching the congregation to know Allah, ordering the congregation to repent, holding a pilgrimage agenda, and ordering the congregation to make the murshid a role model. Third, the efforts made by K. H. Hasyim Hasan Fatah have an impact on the development of the spirituality of Tarekat Naqsabandiyah congregation in Banjarnegara. The impact is the formation of the purpose of life to worship, an increase in inner peace, and an increase in akhlakul karimah.
