Abstract

Srikandi Lintas Iman is a women's community that focuses on issues of peace, diversity, especially related to women and children's issues. The existence of the SRILI Community departs from the anxiety of increasing cases of religious intolerance that have the potential to trigger conflict and violence. In the midst of this issue, SRILI believes that women have a central role in building an inclusive environment. This study aims to examine how interfaith communication is carried out in building religious moderation in the Srikandi Lintas Iman Community of Yogyakarta. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through field studies with observation, interviews and documentation related to the research. This research was analyzed using the theories of social communication, reception, interfaith communication and religious moderation to explore the subjective experiences of community members in interacting with other members who have different religious backgrounds. From this phenomenon, the focus of this research is to find out how communication between members of various religions can create a moderate attitude, mutual respect, and avoid extremism in belief. The results show that the interfaith communication built by this community is carried out through interfaith dialog, thematic discussions, and collaborative work in social and spiritual activities. The dialogue does not only take place in a formal space, but is also present in everyday life such as regular discussions of Saturday Studies, interfaith pilgrimages, and the practice of solidarity between members. Communication in this community emphasizes mutual listening, openness, and nonjudgment, so that religious moderation values such as respect for differences and interfaith cooperation can be maintained and strengthened. The communication strategies used include interpersonal, group, and public approaches that are realized in various social, educational, and advocative activities. These activities include humanitarian actions, conflict resolution training, equality campaigns, and informal education in the form of inspiration classes, studies, and joint reflections involving speakers from various religious backgrounds. These diverse communication strategies enable Srikandi Lintas Iman to build an open space for dialogue, erode interfaith stereotypes, and create an interfaith women's solidarity network as agents of peace in society.
