Abstract

This study examines how event management is implemented in Pasar Wiguna to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle. The growing demand for sustainability in public events highlights the need to understand how environmental concepts are translated into practice, as sustainability is often positioned more as a concept than consistently implemented. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the application of event management stages and sustainability principles within Pasar Wiguna. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with key stakeholders, and documentation. The analysis is guided by event management theory by Joe Goldblatt, which includes research, design, planning, coordination, and evaluation, alongside the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle (3R). The findings indicate that Pasar Wiguna has integrated sustainability values into its event management process. However, challenges remain, including inconsistencies between concept and implementation, limited stakeholder compliance, and shifts in managerial decisions during evaluation. The use of a white label system also creates a duality between operational management and public event identity. These findings suggest that sustainable event management depends on stakeholder engagement, adaptive strategies, and consistent implementation.
