Abstract

Information literacy skills are very important for students to support their academic activities, but there are still many students who have difficulty in accessing, evaluating, and utilising information effectively. To overcome this problem, the Library of FKKMK UGM launched the Si Baper (Sinau Bareng Perpustakaan) programme as an effort to improve students' information literacy. This study aims to determine the reaction of participants to the Si Baper program, to determine the learning process carried out in the Si Baper program, to determine changes in participant behaviour after participating in the Si Baper program, This study uses the Kirkpatrick evaluation model with a qualitative approach. The evaluation is based on Kirkpatrick's four levels: reaction, learning, behaviour, and outcome. The novelty of this study lies in the application of Kirkpatrick's evaluation model to assess information literacy programmes in academic libraries, with the output of seeing the changes that occur in participants from the Si Baper programme. Qualitative methods were used, with data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The results showed that participants responded positively to the teaching methods used in this programme. In terms of learning, there was an increase in participants' understanding of information literacy. At the behavioural level, the participants started to apply the acquired skills in their academic activities. However, the long-term impact on academic performance still requires further research. A long-term evaluation, such as a follow-up survey or interview several months after the training, is recommended to assess the extent to which participants are still applying the skills they have learnt and which aspects still need to be improved or developed further.
