Abstract

This research is motivated by the socio-economic reality of income inequality and the high level of vulnerability faced by women's groups in Kapanewon Kasihan, Bantul Regency. As an urban buffer zone, land conversion has forced women to shift to the informal sector, hence the Socio-Economically Vulnerable Women (WRSE) program is introduced as a form of government intervention to enhance the economic independence and social dignity of vulnerable women. This study aims to determine the implementation of the WRSE program in Kapanewon Kasihan, Bantul, and to describe the outcomes of the program on the socio-economic conditions of the beneficiaries. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative method approach. Informant selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique involving the Bantul Regency PKH (Family Hope Program) Coordinator, field facilitators, and Family Beneficiaries (KPM) of the WRSE program. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted progressively through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the WRSE program in Kapanewon Kasihan is executed through a structured management cycle, comprising: the process of synchronization and verification of prospective participant data based on the DTKS (Integrated Social Welfare Data) and the SIKS-NG application deciles 1–4, provision of motivational/psychological guidance, contextual productive skills training (such as culinary arts), distribution of capital stimulants in the form of goods/production tools through non-cash accounts of BPD bank, and periodic monitoring. This program has brought positive impacts, including a constant increase in KPM household income, improved family nutrition, guaranteed child education, and enhanced women's self-confidence.
