Abstract
Students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, undertake dual roles as both students and Islamic boarding school students, requiring them to balance academic activities with Islamic boarding school (pesantren) activities. These demands have the potential to cause academic stress if not balanced with strong adaptability. Therefore, self-resilience is a crucial factor in helping students survive, adapt, and cope with the various pressures that arise during their education. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-resilience and academic stress among students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational approach. The subjects were 62 students selected using incidental sampling. The instruments used were a self-resilience scale adapted from the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and an academic stress scale. Data were analyzed through descriptive analysis, normality tests, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests. The results showed that 79% of respondents' self-resilience levels were in the moderate category, 11.3% in the high category, and 9.7% in the low category. Meanwhile, the majority of academic stress levels were in the moderate category. The hypothesis test results showed a correlation coefficient of 0.435 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This finding indicates a significant relationship between self-resilience and academic stress in Islamic boarding school students, with a moderate level of correlation. The results indicate that resilience skills play a role in helping Islamic boarding school students cope with and adapt to academic pressure.
