Abstract
This study aims to analyze and explain the partial and simultaneous effects of Human Capital Quality (HCQ), Demographic Potential (DP), Domestic Investment (DI), Economic Globalization (EG), Digital Transformation (DT), and Institutional Quality (IQ) on Youth Unemployment Rate (YUR) in seven D-8 member countries over the 2014-2023 period. This study employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression with a Fixed Effect Model incorporating a first-order Autoregressive component AR(1) to address autocorrelation issues. The results show that all independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on YUR, with an Adjusted R-squared of 95.39%. Partially, Demographic Potential, Domestic Investment, and Digital Transformation have a negative and significant effect at the 5% level, Human Capital Quality has a negative and significant effect at the 10% level, while Economic Globalization and Institutional Quality do not have a significant effect on YUR. These findings imply that accelerating Domestic Investment and Digital Transformation are the most effective policy instruments for reducing youth unemployment in the D-8 region, while improving Human Capital Quality and institutional governance require deeper structural reform to be effectively transmitted into youth labor absorption.
