Abstract

This study examines “Reconstruction of Arabic Language Learning Management in Madrasahs: A Case Study at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, that focuses on (1) What are the empirical conditions of Arabic language learning management at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Kolaka with respect to the planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision of the learning process? (2) How can a conceptual reconstruction framework for integrative and digital-based Arabic language learning management be developed based on the identified needs and empirical findings at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Kolaka? (3) How can the proposed reconstruction model of Arabic language learning management be implemented and recommended to improve the effectiveness and quality of learning in madrasahs? This study aims to: (1) describe the empirical condition of Arabic language learning management at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, covering the aspects of planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision of learning; (2) analyze the construction of an integrative and digital-based reconstruction of Arabic language learning management developed based on the needs and empirical findings in the madrasah; and (3) produce a reconstruction model of Arabic language learning management that can be implemented and recommended to improve the effectiveness and quality of learning in madrasahs. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach as the basis for field exploration. The research was conducted at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Kolaka. The research subjects consisted of the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, Arabic language teachers, and students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the management of Arabic language learning at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Kolaka has been implemented in terms of planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision. However, several obstacles were still identified, including learning tools that were not fully adaptive to students’ needs, the use of digital media that had not been systematically integrated, and learning evaluation that was still oriented toward cognitive aspects. Based on these findings, this study produced an integrative and digital-based reconstruction model of Arabic learning management emphasizing participatory planning, collaborative learning, the utilization of digital technology, authentic assessment, and continuous supervision. The developed model proved capable of improving the effectiveness of the learning process, student participation, teacher professionalism, and the quality of Arabic language learning in madrasahs. The implications of this study indicate that the integrative and digital-based reconstruction of Arabic learning management can serve as an alternative learning management model relevant to the needs of madrasah education in the era of digital transformation. This model can also be used as a reference for the development of policies and practices in Arabic language learning management in other madrasahs.
