Abstract

This study examines the supervision of the Qurban program for Somalia as part of Islamic philanthropic activities at Yayasan Peduli Muslim Yogyakarta. The study aims to describe and analyze the practice of Islamic philanthropy management in supervising the Qurban program for Somalia. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving the Core Management Chairperson, Program Implementation Staff, the local Somali partner Rayan Foundation, and donors or shohibul qurban. Data validity was assessed through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The findings indicate that supervision of the Qurban program was implemented through three main stages: establishment of standards, measurement of performance, and correction of deviations. Standards were established through targets related to implementation time, budget allocation, and program quality. Performance measurement was conducted through administrative records, reporting, documentation, communication, and coordination among the parties involved. Corrective actions were taken by adjusting plans, measurement methods, and problem-analysis procedures in response to field conditions. These findings demonstrate that supervision was not merely a control mechanism for ensuring conformity with predetermined plans, but also functioned as an adaptive process for maintaining program accountability and continuity. Thus, effective supervision strengthened the professional management of Islamic philanthropy and supported public trust in the implementation of the Qurban program across national borders.
