Abstract

Non-Consensual Intimate Images (NCII) is a form of Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV) that is not solely caused by individual actions but is also influenced by sosial structures that sustain and reproduce such violence. Patriarchal culture, limited understanding of consent and digital privacy, restricted access to protection mechanisms, and weak sosial support systems contribute to the occurrence and recurrence of NCII cases. These conditions highlight the importance of macro-level interventions aimed at promoting broader sosial change. This study aims to examine the role of sosial structures in facilitating the occurrence and recurrence of NCII from SAFEnet’s perspective and to describe the forms of macro intervention carried out by Awas KBGO in preventing and addressing NCII. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Informants were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews and documentation and analyzed using Johan Galtung’s Structural Violence Theory and Charles Zastrow’s Macro Intervention Theory. The findings reveal that sosial structures perpetuate NCII through patriarchal values, limited understanding of consent and digital privacy, restricted access to information and protection, and inadequate sosial support for victims. The macro interventions implemented by SAFEnet analysing using 4 stages of engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
