Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is an approach that integrates economic and social goals to create sustainable social benefits and impacts. Difa Bike Yogyakarta is a social enterprise operating in the transportation and tourism sectors that involves people with disabilities as drivers and core participants in its business activities. This study aims to analyze and formulate optimization strategies for social entrepreneurship that can be applied to Difa Bike Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving key informants—including the founder of Difa Bike, operational managers, disabled drivers, and service users—selected via purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, while data trustworthiness was tested using source and technique triangulation. The results show that Difa Bike's social entrepreneurship is realized through social value creation, job opportunities for persons with disabilities, service innovation, empowerment, and economic activities that support organizational sustainability. In practice, Difa Bike still faces challenges such as resource constraints, service operational obstacles, and employment dynamics. Optimization strategies are directed toward strengthening human resource capacity, improving financial independence and economic efficiency, fostering innovation and adaptability, as well as enhancing the satisfaction and well-being of beneficiaries. These strategies are expected to strengthen business sustainability while preserving the social mission of Difa Bike Yogyakarta.
