Abstract

Indonesia’s accession to the BRICS group is expected to open up broader opportunities for the country as a rubber exporter. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the value of Indonesia’s natural rubber exports to BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) from 2009 to 2024, using the variables of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), destination country exchange rates, geographic distance, and natural rubber export prices. This study employs theories of international trade, the Gravity Trade Model, and supply and demand theory. It utilizes the Gravity Model approach and the Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) method. The results indicate that GDP and geographic distance have a positive effect on the value of natural rubber exports, while the exchange rates of destination countries and geographic distance have a negative effect on the value of Indonesia’s natural rubber exports.
