Abstract

The establishment of Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) became a major government policy that attracted extensive media attention. As a national business news portal, Bisnis.com intensively reported Danantara from its planning stage to its inauguration. This study examines how Bisnis.com framed Danantara-related news during the pre-inauguration and inauguration periods. Using a qualitative approach, the research applied Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki’s framing analysis model, which analyzes syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. The data consisted of 12 Bisnis.com news articles published between October 2024 and February 2025, selected through purposive sampling. Berger and Luckmann’s social construction theory was used to explain how media construct social reality. The findings show that Bisnis.com predominantly framed Danantara as a legitimate and strategic policy for strengthening Indonesia’s economy. Before its inauguration, coverage focused on regulatory certainty, institutional formation, and government credibility. During the inauguration period, the framing emphasized economic nationalism, national self-reliance, and optimism toward state investment management. Overall, Bisnis.com tended to strengthen the policy’s legitimacy rather than present a more balanced critical evaluation. Keywords: Framing Analysis, Danantara, Bisnis.com, Online Media, Social Construction Theory, Policy Legitimacy.
