Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic Financial Literacy and Compounding Return Understanding on the Financial Well-being of Muslim Generation Z university students in Indonesia. This research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires from 211 Muslim Generation Z university students and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that Islamic Financial Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Financial Well-being, with β = 0.367, t-statistic = 6.005, and p-value < 0.001. Compounding Return Understanding also has a positive and significant effect on Financial Well-being, with β = 0.493, t-statistic = 11.463, and p-value < 0.001. These findings indicate that understanding Islamic financial principles and the ability to understand asset growth through time, consistency, and reinvestment can contribute to students’ financial well-being. The findings provide practical implications for developing Islamic financial literacy and long-term financial planning education for young people.
