Abstract

This research was motivated by the increasing relevance of the utilization of artificial intelligence, particularly chatbots, in the learning activities of students in the Islamic Religious Education Study Program. As prospective educators, Islamic Religious Education students are required to utilize artificial intelligence technology appropriately and responsibly in learning activities. On the other hand, the utilization of artificial intelligence in the learning process needs to be examined in relation to students' learning quality. This study aims to determine the relationship between the utilization of artificial intelligence (chatbots) and learning quality among students of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Class of 2023, at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta. This study employed a quantitative method. The population consisted of students of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Class of 2023, with a total of 94 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires, while data analysis was conducted through prerequisite tests and the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results showed that the utilization of artificial intelligence (chatbots) among students was generally in the high category, with 84 respondents (89.4%). Learning quality was also in the high category, with 89 respondents (94.7%). The Pearson Product-Moment correlation test showed a correlation coefficient of 0.599 with a significance value of 0.000. Since the significance value was lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), the results indicate a significant relationship between the utilization of artificial intelligence (chatbots) and learning quality. The correlation coefficient of 0.599 indicates that the relationship between the two variables is positive and at a moderate level. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between the utilization of artificial intelligence (chatbots) and learning quality among students of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Class of 2023, at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta.
