Abstract

Along with the rapid development of technology, the field of education is also faced with challenges in improving the qualifications of educational components. In this context, educators are required to transform traditional learning into digital learning, such as through the use of animated videos. This study aims to: 1) develop a biology animated video based on the Powtoon application on the topic of the immune system for Grade XI students at MAN 1 Yogyakarta; 2) determine the quality of the biology animated video based on the Powtoon application on the topic of the immune system for Grade XI students at MAN 1 Yogyakarta; and 3) determine students' penilaianes to the biology animated video based on the Powtoon application on the topic of the immune system for Grade XI students at MAN 1 Yogyakarta. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which was modified into the ADDE model. The data collection techniques used were interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the biology animated video based on the Powtoon application obtained an overall feasibility percentage of 96.89%, categorized as very good. The material expert assessment obtained a percentage of 100% (very good), the media expert assessment obtained 94.64% (very good), the biology teacher assessment obtained 97.93% (very good), and the peer reviewer assessment obtained 94.99% (very good). In addition, the results of the students' penilaianes showed a percentage of 77.89%, categorized as good, indicating that the media was well received and suitable for use in the learning process. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the developed biology animated video based on the Powtoon application on the topic of the immune system has a very good level of feasibility and received positive penilaianes from students. Therefore, the media is suitable for use as a biology learning medium for Grade XI students at MAN 1 Yogyakarta.
