Abstract

Penusupan Village has a geological setting composed of the Jembangan Volcanic Formation (QJYA) and the Kalibiuk Formation (TPB), with varying slope gradients and areas affected by ground movement. This study aims to analyze the relationship between geological formations and zones suspected to be prone to ground movement and to model subsurface conditions based on the interpretation of regional magnetic anomalies. Data acquisition was conducted at 49 measurement points using a Proton Precession Magnetometer (PPM) with an interpoint spacing of approximately 130 m. The total magnetic field data were processed through diurnal variation correction and International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) correction. The results show that the regional magnetic anomaly values range from -147.1 nT to 327.7 nT. Two-dimensional (2D) modeling identified the Kalibiuk Formation (TPB) with magnetic susceptibility values of 0.2–0.6 × 10⁻³ SI at depths of approximately 0–85 m and the Jembangan Volcanic Formation (QJYA) with magnetic susceptibility values of 12.0–19.0 × 10⁻³ SI at depths of approximately 14–100 m. The zone suspected of experiencing ground movement is associated with the Jembangan Volcanic Formation (QJYA) and is located on relatively steep slopes. The presence of water seepage within the ground-movement zone indicates the influence of hydrological conditions on slope stability.
