Abstract

This study aims to measure and determine user satisfaction with academic information systems at higher education institutions in Banda Aceh, as well as to provide recommendations for system developers to improve their systems. It employs the WebQual 4.0 method, which consists of three dimensions : usability, information quality, and service interaction. Combined with the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method to compare the level of importance with the level of performance perceived by users. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 350 respondents representing a population of 40,006 students and lecturers from 9 higher education institutions in Banda Aceh, using purposive sampling to determine the research locations and accidental sampling to determine the respondents. Data analysis was conducted through validity and reliability testing, calculation of the suitability level (Tki), gap analysis (GAP), and IPA quadrant analysis. The results indicate that all instrument items were valid and reliable. Overall, the level of user satisfaction with the academic information system falls into the good category, although gaps between expectations and performance still exist. The majority of higher education institutions recorded Tki values below 100% and negative GAP values, while Universitas Serambi Mekkah and Akademi Farmasi YPPM Mandiri obtained Tki values above 100% with positive GAP values. The nine higher education institutions were grouped into three performance categories: high, moderate, and in need of improvement. Improvement recommendations focus on four aspects: information quality, ease of use, data security, and social interaction.
