Abstract

Since its launch in 2011, the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) has continued to face low adoption penetration compared to the overall stock investor population, making it important to examine the factors driving its usage intention. This study aims to analyze the influence of Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions on the Intention to Use SOTS in sharia stock investment, applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The sample was focused on Generation Z, who dominate Indonesia's capital market investor population and are digital natives. A quantitative causal explanatory design was employed. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 200 Generation Z respondents familiar with SOTS, selected using purposive sampling, and analyzed using SEM-PLS. Results show Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions significantly and positively affect usage intention, while Effort Expectancy is not significant. The model explains 63.3% of the variance (R² = 0.633), confirming UTAUT's relevance in mapping SOTS adoption determinants.
