Abstract

Sharaf (Arabic morphology) learning needs an appropriate strategy. In practice, sharaf learning can be classified into two categories, tfje traditional and modern ones. The former uses theories on branches of the Arabic language, including the qowaid method, memorization of rules, wazan and mauzun. The latter employs theories on all in one system comprising the direct method and aural oral approach, as well as audio lingual practices or sentence pattern practices. In general the sharaf learning strategy cannot be separated from Arabic learning strategies. The sharaf learning strategy covers five elements, namely sharaf learning objectives, approach, method, technique, and evaluation. The sharaf learning strategy is similar to the qowaid (nahwu-sharaff learning strategy, with the difference in the learning focus. The sharaf learning strategy and sentence patterns are adjusted to the learners' marhalah (proficiency level).
