Abstract

The university student must pay-attention to the problems of society and development, and generally that is what forms the background of obligatory rural or social action internships for advanced university student (KKN) in University. Nevertheless, the spirit of autonomy put into effect in 1999, educational institution begins to do adjusment or self adaptation to KKN system together with its vision and mission. At first, the models of KKN are the same and regularly, but now they are in various models as we look at Indonesia Islamic University, Gadjah Mada University and The State University Yogyakarta. KKN in IAIN as the only model, now is criticized by many people. The developed opinion is the alternative model, that is KKNPPL (Field Education Practice) mitiatined by Tarbiyah Faculty. This article trys to study the history of KKN in IAIN together with developed opinion around KKN and PPL, and alternative that we can think, although it is not the only one choice.
