Abstract

Rural community guidance in religious life can be seen through the occurrence of change toward the better condition than before, the existence of people participation, and the local authority's support. In addition, the success of rural community guidance can be measured by the warranty of the program sustainability when local religious leaders, who are ready to handle the further Islamic da'wah, has come to surface. Research concerning the process and the impact of rural community guidance program in Kaliagung area, which has reached three phases, shows the indication of the success,i.e from the absence of cadres as well as institution of Islamic movement to the establishment of such institution; from the inactiveness of women religious learning group to its activeness; and from the reluctance of the village authority's involvement in the religious activities to its active involvement in term of fund allocation and support. Given the facts mentioned above, it can be said that rural community guidance program performed by UIN Sunan Kalijaga in Kaliagung is successful.
