Abstract

This research aimed to identify the utility level of art and culture collections in the library of Taman Budaya Yogyakarta. It is a descriptivequantitative study using a centered evaluation method on the utility based on the spatial usage. In this research the researcher did a direct observation by recording the collections used and photocopied by the library users. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation, in which checklists were used as the instrument. The research results showed that the utility level of art and culture collections in the library of Taman Budaya Yogyakarta in general was 29,1%, meaning that almost half of the entire art and culture collections were used and considered as low. The most frequently used collections were the scripts of play and ketoprak (a Javanese performance art) at 17,78%. Meanwhile, the least frequently used collection was textbooks at 3.20%, indicating a low utility level, which meant that the utility level of the collection was very low.
