Abstract

This research aims to find out human computer interaction to interface “elibrary” at Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University (UMY)’s library. Subject collected by using library customer. Data collected by using questionnaires as the main method, interview, observation and documentation as complementary method. The population taken of all library customer 2011-2014 of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University Department in April-May 2014. The sample taken as many as 99 respondents using accidental sampling technique. The analysis used Quantitative Descriptive Analysis. The indicators human computer interaction are translated into ten sub-variables, namely: Simple and Natural Dialog, Speak the Users’ Language, Minimize the users’ Memory Load, Consistency, Feedback, Clearly Marked Exits, Shortcuts, Good Error Messages, Prevent Errors, Help. Based on the quantitative descriptive analysis, the results obtain can be summarize as follows: the score of assessment criteria based on the average value of 2,98 overall results this obtained can be categorized that used human computer interaction of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University is good. The recommendations that given are related to the socialization of new software "eLibrary" to introduce and promote the online catalog and owned by the Library, of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University.
