Abstract

This study aimed to determine the correlation between the implementation of seven grade information literacy and Indonesian task score in SMP N 5 Yogyakarta. The application of information literacy of SMP N 5 Yogyakarta is based on a learning method known as 6M where researcher analyzes it by using the Big 6 information literacy models and empowering 8 models as the method. The method that is used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study is 320 students that is divided into 10 classes. The sample of this study is two classes (64 students). Sample taking technique is conducted by using cluster sampling technique (sample area). Based on the research that has been done in SMP N 5 Yogyakarta, it can be concluded that the information literacy skills of students is associated with the value of the task. It can be seen on the results of correlation of 0,575 with the direction of the regression is a large positive constant 52,320 and information literacy by 0,365 which means when the level of information literacy increased by one level, then the value of students task will increase by 0,365. In addition, the significancy between the information literacy with Indonesian task score is significant with 0,000 which it on less than 0,05. Based on this study, the information literacy skill of students still need to be improved. This can be done by organizing activities that contain elements of information literacy. Such activities should not only be applied in teaching and learning activities in the classroom, but also can be done outside the classroom.
