Abstract

This research aim to determine the level of professionalism of librarian in the Library of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta based on the library user responses, so it can be used as a basic for evaluation activities. This research is a survey research with quantitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study are the library users who registered as a member of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta Library which consists of students, teachers and employees. While the object of this research is a response of library user about the professionalism of librarian of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta. The population in this study are the library users who registered as a member of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta Library which is amount to 950 members consist of students, teachers and employees with a specified number of samples is 90 peoples. Sampling technique in this study is insidental sampling. The technique of collecting data is by use questionnaires, documentations, observations and interviews. The validity and reliability of the instruments are by using the formula product moment correlation and Alpha Cronbrach. The analysis of the data calculated by using the formula Mean and Grand Mean Mean. The result that’s obtained from the calculation by using mean and grand mean of the library user responses about the professionalism of librarian are 3.24 that can be categorized as good. So, from the result, it can be concluded that the library user responses towards the professionalism of librarian of SMA N 1 Yogyakarta based on interval scale using the formula is good.
