Abstract

This study aims to determine library user perception of service quality based method Libqual in Yogyakarta Janabadra University Central Library. To measure the quality of service of the writer used Libqual which developed by Fatmawati with 4 demensions Affect of Service, Information Control, Library as Place and Personal Control. This type of research is quantitative research. The variables in this study is a single variable that library user perception of service quality based method Libqual in Yogyakarta Janabadra University Central Library. The sampling technique in this research is proportionate stratified random sampling method. The sample in this study amounted to 609 library users. Slovin’s Formula perceptions to determine the sample therefore persentation constraint uncertainty because failure sample which still can tolerance is 10% (0,1). So, with persentation uncertainty (alpha) 10% then the result is 85,9 ≈ 86. Methods of data collection in this study is the observation, documentation and interview. Analysis of the data used is by using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results can be summarized as follows : the average value to the variable quality of service Affect of Service 3:03, so based on the average are categorized either. Information Control to variable average value of the quality of service is 3.12. so based on the average value are categorized either. Library as place an average value to the variable quality of service is 3:02, so based on the average are well categorized and Personal Control 3:02 of the count, the average quality of service is good. So the results of these calculations is known that the Quality of Service in the Library of the University Centre Janabadra Yogyakarta is good, however there are some things it is necessary or prioritized to do any improvement, such as the willingness of officers to assist trouble library user on the item needs to be improved with training to library to officers and to establish good communication with library user, the availability of the internet is helpful library user in finding information on items intrnet needs to be accelerated and expanded access Wifi (Wireless Fidelity), availability of equipment library user library is needed to support the task, the time needed comfort library user morning till night on the item necessary to add more hours of service at night to library user.
