Abstract

The wireless network indoors is strongly influenced by the presence of interference. To overcome the interference, optimization is need to create a reliable communication. There are several indoor propagation models that can be used as guidance in the placement of the access point, including the One Slope Model. One Slope Model is the easiest way to measure the average signal level in a building without having to know a building layout in detail because it depends on the distance between the transmitter and receiver. The research was done by using several stages including a new topology design adapted to the concept of Contour Display. Optimizing access point is performed using Random Sampling Manual and Coverage Visualization to know the strength of the signal obtained from a certain point to produce colors are: red, orange, yellow, green, easy, and green. Testing the system here uses two stages of the alpha test to try to determine the strength of the signal generated prior to optimization. While in the beta test phase of testing the system after optimization by using a questionnaire addressed to Internet users. Based on the results of tests performed before the optimization of the access point until the final stages of optimization, resulting in performance access point capable of serving the entire building of the Faculty of Science and Technology with the results obtained corresponding to 90% and 10% are not suitable. In these results it can be concluded that the optimization is done successfully and can be implemented.
