Abstract
The research aims to determine how the role of community library (TBM) Adil 2 in empowering the people of Cokrobedug, Godean, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This research is qualitative research. The method of collect data in this research are used observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this reseach concluded that (1) the people's empowerment models that have been made of a community library(TBM) Adil 2 was through utilization of collections. Community library(TBM) Adil 2 utilized their collections as a media for the empowering process. People's empowerment in the community library(TBM) Adil 2 divided into two terms of economic empowerment and empowerment of religious terms. The percived benefit society that improve education, increase accessibility, improve repair action, improving bussiness improvement, increase revenue, improve environmental improvement, and improve the betterment of society. (2) barriers in the people's empowerment process are the lack of human resoursces to manage a community library(TBM) Adil 2, hard to get a resource persons who conduct activities of people's empowerment, the lack of interest in the people to follow the activities of people's empowerment. Solution of that barriers is the owner of community library(TBM) Adil 2 offered to students to help manage community library(TBM) Adil 2.
