Abstract

Variable in this research has individual traits i.e. analysis of competence of librarian in UPU Library of Gadjah Mada University of Yogyakarta. Method and technique used in data collection were observation, documentation, questionnaire method. Data analysis used formulation of Mean dan Grand. Measurement of effectiveness based Likert scale (4-1) whose result was interpreted into very bad, bad, good, and very good. Result of research shows that analysis on competence of librarian in UPU Library of Gadjah Mada University of Yogyakarta includes very good by total of average value of 3,39 and by detail of average count total value of 6 competence component of librarian i.e. competence component average count value of 3,55. Component of main duty and function by average count value of 3,42. Component of job average value of 3,49. Component of individual by average value of 3,46. Component of system by average value of 3,28. Component of construction by average value of 3,16. This research hopefully can give input to library in maintaining competence of librarian in UPU Library of Gadjah Mada University of Yogyakarta.
