Abstract

This study contains promotional effort in the Library and Archives Office in Magelang regency. This effort aims to determine the promotion strategy activities in the Office of Library and Archives in Magelang regency in promoting the library. The method in this study is using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques are using observation, interviews, and documentation. In this study, many informants was interviewed by using a tape recorder. To analyze the data based on the Sugiyono theory with descriptive method or pattern from general to specific or deductive. The results of this study that the Office of Library and Archives Magelang regency have been done many strategies to increase the user interest in reading that based on the aim of this library promotion in the Library and Archieves Office in Magelang Regency. The strategies that have been used to promote the library are financial promotion strategy, promotion mix strategies, and motivation strategy. Library promotion in the Office of Library and Archives in Magelang regency aims to provide a lot informations and remain the existence of products and services to increase the interest in reading of society. To achieve the maximum promotional strategy, the head of this library needs to be actively to make the policies about the strategy of promotion. So the next action, the Head of this library can make an innovation and development for the promotional strategy. Keywords: Promotion, Library, Promotional Strategy, Promotion Library
