Abstract

This research used the qualitative method with the specifying field of study case approach to examine how adult investment in parenting toward their children‟s behavior on separation anxiety disorder. Data were collected through interviews and observations about parenting style in two families consists of wife and husband of the six-year-old child with SAD. Taken together, the result suggest that: a) Parental backgrounds such as level education and social economic status influencehow parent treat their children; b) the experience of parenting that parent had before, also influence how parent treats their children who have the propensity of separation anxiety disorder; c) the difference of parenting practice between father and mother and also inconsistency of parenting influence child‟s behavior; d) father involvement in parenting wereassociated toward children‟s behavior; e) the discrepancy of meaning toward marriage has also influence in spouse involvement toward child rearing.
